I’m phone shopping. As much as I love my iPod Touch, I’m not willing to give up my Verizon service and coverage. So…Droid or Blackberry? All opinions welcome.

This should make you feel good. I have no idea what you are asking!
I have had a Blackberry for a few years now and LOVE it.
I’d go with the “Crackberry” myself.
If you can wait until the end of the year, you can probably have a iPhone on the Verizon network. Otherwise, you have to decide what you use your phone for and weigh it against the strengths/weaknesses of the Droid and Blackberry. Personally, I’d go with a Droid but I’m not sure it’s a very good ‘business’ tool, as is a Blackberry. The best place to do your gadget homework is http://www.cnet.com. They have excellent, unbiased reviews. Also, the tech writer for the New York Times, David Pogue, is also very helpful.
Well, I’ve got a pay-as-you-go phone from Target. It cost $10 brand new.
Don’t ask me questions about phones.
I’d steer clear of druids, myself. Strange people. And unless you have perfect teeth, blackberries have too many pips for my liking.
I L-O-V-E my iPhone!! (But we have no service area problems.)
I agree with unbearable.
BUT it really, really depends on what you want to use it for. I got the Motorola droid b/c I wanted the talking GPS feature, which once you figure it out, is a charm. Don’t need a GPS all that often, but when I do it is wonderful, has the traffic factored in where that is available.
I don’t use the keyboard at all. the onscreen is quicker and I am more accurate. I use the browser to answer questions or locate businesses. ALSO an app for white pages.
The blackberry has a browser but is not as effective/fast whatever. Verizon guy sold me a case, but it made the phone way too bulky for me. Most important thing is use for what? as well as cost.
I’m sticking with the Rassles style phone until I get my magic Foreign Identity Number, which will allow me to get a contract (rather than pay as you go) and then I’m going for the iPhone.
To all–I got the Droid this afternoon. Still figuring it out, but so far, so good.
To Jin and Birdie–Thanks for commenting and welcome to Franklin. I hope you’ll shop here often.
