Random Thoughts on the Olympics

  1. Do the beach volleyball uniforms really have to be THAT tiny? Here they are receiving some pointers from President Bush. Truly, can you call those uniforms? Pres George W Bush declines Misty May-Treanor's invitation to slap her butt in celebration and brushes her back instead

    2.  Why do the divers use such tiny little towels? Have you ever seen them drying off when they get out of the pool? The towels look to be about 6″x6″. About the same size as your average women’s beach volleyball uniform.

  3.  What was the designer of the Hugarian women’s outfits during the opening ceremonies thinking? They looked like 101 Technicolor Dalmations. (They’re in the second picture below…I couldn’t get rid of the top one.)

  1. That picture with the president looks fairly inappropriate in a humorous way.

You say that is “pointers” they are receiving from our president??? No wonder the man has had problems dealing successfully with diplomats from other countries.

    Julie–your politics are showing. 🙂

  4. My mom (Karen Austin) pointed me to your blog. My husband and I got married at St. Paul’s in June. 🙂

I was thinking the same thing about the skimpy “uniforms” for the v’ball women. I guess that’s why the Iraq Women’s Volleyball team is not a major competitor.

Yeah…I don’t think you want to get sand in your burka.

Cindy you definitely make my Olympics viewing so much more amusing 😀

  8. The diving towels absorb more than 9 times their weight in water. The women’s suits. . . well, that seems pretty obvious. They wear them for, well, men.
